Getting bored in the mountains... who said that? There are still plenty of opportunities to “listen” and “do” in this (supposedly) end-of-summer first weekend of September!
In the Orco and Soana Valleys, the events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Gran Paradiso National Park continue. For example, on Sunday 4 afternoon at the PalaMila in Ceresole Reale, the “Sounds of Gran Paradiso” festival will come to a close with a concert by the Ensemble The Royal Horns of the Regio Theatre in Torino. On the other hand, “Harmonies in the Gran Paradiso” kicks off, hosting the Free Voices Gospel Choir in Locana on Saturday 3 evening. In Locana too and on the same day, but in the morning, not to be missed is “Waiting for the IREN Fitwalking Day”, a free Fitwalking session with Giorgio and Maurizio Damilano.
Let’s move on to the Lanzo Valleys. From Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 in Chialamberto there is “The mountain in fair”, an exhibition and tasting of typical local products, musical entertainment, sporting and cultural activities; on Sunday 4 everyone goes to Usseglio for “Honey on the top”, a festival of mountain honey and forest fruits, with guided tastings, demonstrations and workshops for children, and e-bike tours. Finally, “Lanzo Valleys Trekking Bus” ends with the last of the sustainable itineraries with the accompaniment of specialised guides: Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 e-bike tours on the Ceronda Ring, departing from Lanzo Torinese.
And finally, the Susa Valley. Mountain Scenario will be held on Saturday 3 in Cesana Torinese with “Music in the street”, three musical ensembles in three suggestive places... have fun discovering them! For “Borgate dal Vivo”, instead, on Sunday 4 the Exilles Fort opens for the concert of pianist Frida Bollani Magoni, daughter of art. Folklore and merriment are also awaiting us on Sunday in Sauze d’Oulx with the “Tractor Day” (a parade of tractors and earth-moving machines) but also the “Tractor boccia”: all children will be able to participate with their own pedal-powered tractor/scraper! It will also be a day of joy in Sestriere, where the arrival of the HAT Sanremo-Sestriere is planned, a journey/ride at night through the Alps of Liguria and Piemonte to be tackled without competitive ambition but sharing a passion for motorbikes, to rediscover dirt tracks and natural-bed roads.
